My Sweet Sasha

Sasha, along with her littermate, George, arrived in our household 11 years ago.  My teenaged daughter brought them home from the local shelter on the day they were to be euthanized.  Both of them were small, sickly and scared.  We nursed them back to health but poor Sasha remained skittish, earning the name "Scaredy Cat" at times.

Sasha had the softest, most beautiful coat I've ever seen on a cat.  It was a dark striped coat, with her diminutive white paws and chest and a bit of tan underbelly.  She had a petite frame but did get a bit chubby in her later years (like her mommy).  She had an extremely intense stare and beautiful, big green eyes.

Sasha and George joined our first cat, 2 year old Miss Kitty, who was none too pleased to have two new cats in the house.  She was the queen bee, and she showed her displeasure at their presence with hissing and an occasional swat.  Sasha and Miss Kitty never did like each other, especially when it came to competing for my attention, but they did learn to tolerate the other's existence.  Little did Miss Kitty know that this little girl would completely captivate her mommy's heart.
